Mr Barden, Minister, at a military banquet at Montreal, declared that the money Canadians devoted to defence should be controlled by them, and not handed to anybody, whether tho War Office or the Admiralty. The ability to defend their own territory was the best contribution to the Empiro’s aafoty and integrity.
