LATE SHIPPING.
THE TE ANAU. Tho Union S.S. Company’s steamer Te Anau arrived from the South at 6.45 last evening, and left for Auckland shortly after midnight. Passengers Inward : Misses Sidey, Leadbetter, O’Keiily ; Mesdames Lean, Hackey ; Messrs Porter (2), Hargreaves, Shirley, McLeod, McLean, Taylor, Parker, Nicholson, Bridge, Stone, Oliver, Hackey. Outward : Misses Bayly. Judd (2), Stevens (3) ; Mesdames Lysnar and child, Rennell, Peach, Stevens ; Messrs Davaree, Daly, Rennell, Maunsell, Geeson, Judd, Craill.
THE TALUNE. The Union S.S. Company’s steamer Taluno (Capt. (Smith) arrived from Auckland shortly before ono o’clock this morning after a lengthy trip of over thirtythree hours, tho steamer encountering the full force of a north-east gale in crossing the Bay of Plenty. The steamer did not pass the Cape until 4.15, and it was expected that, she would reach Gisborne about 10.80 or II o’clock. The Southern passengers were taken out by the last launch to tho To Anau at 9 p.m., and they remained on board that steamer until after midnight. At that hour the lights of tho Talune could bo seen, but it was not until an hour later that the steamer came to an anchorage, the captain having some difficulty in picking up the lights. The Talune brought the following passengers for Gisborne : Mesdames Siddells, Gaudin, and Bennett; Misses Waller, Whitelow, Elsinore; Messrs Mayston, Donald, Farrell, Hunter. Walker, Holgate, Warnock, Conolly (2), Domino .(3;, Hay, Jowess, Roberts, Hill; Rev. T. Mulvihill,. Outward : Misses Morgan (4), Reynolds, Jones, Edger, Buchanan; Mesdames Tyler, Siper, Inuis, De Bruno Austin, Ritchie and two children, and Cooper; Messrs Collins, Lindsay, T'ylee, Furdhatu, Burton, CederwaJl,..Dewing, Large, Kenway, Williams, Hutchinson, and Preston; Rev. Alex, Whyte.
