MR PATERSON’S REPLY.
(To the Editor Gi«borne Times.)
Sir, —You were pleased to insert in your paper this morniDg a paragraph from the Sporting Review, criticising a sermon preached by me lately, in which the editor, I suppose, asks the question “ Who on earth i 3 McCredio ? ” Does he put the question by way of a conundrum ? if so, I give it up. I don’t know any more about an actor of the name oi “ McCredio ” than he seems to know himself, but I do know something by reading of the famous English actor of other days, Macready. and it was he that 1 quoted. Who the editor of the Sporting Review is I know not, but it is a great pity that ho is so ignorant of the past history of the stage he professes to champion. Mr Editor, a minister has quite enough to do to compose and preach sermons without being compelled to supply brains to those who feel called to sit in judgment upon him.—l am, etc., Jambs G. Paterson,
