The Frankfuter Zeitung states that it is proposed to create Prince Charles of Sweden King of Norway, and unite Norway, Sweden, and Denmark into a Scandivanian Empire, with the King of Denmark as first Emperor, the object being to resist Russian conquest of the Peninsula CHEERS FOR MR CHAMBERLAIN. London, Oct. 20. Earl Beauchamp, speaking at King’s Hearth, contended that the result of the enquiry was a magnificent demonstration of the value of free trade. At the National Rifle Association meeting the King’s prize was won by Sergeant Soden, of Queensland, with 222, James Wilson, New Zealand, seventh, with 214, taking j£7. AUSTRALIA’S CAPITAL. Melbourne, Oct. 20. The House dissented from the Senate’s amendment to make Bombala the capital by 30 to 16, and is now discussing the extension of area territory. The State Cabinet finally adopted the plan of redistribution of the seats. The Assembly under the Reform Act will be 65 single electorates, aud five membors will be elected by State employees.
