WATER SUPPLY SCHEME,

It was expected that a good deal of discussion would take place at the meeting of the City Council this evening in regard to tho proposed water supply scheme, as notice had been given to move several motions on the subject. On tbe mattor coming up, however, it was found that tho requisite notice in accordance with tho Council’s standing orders had not been given to Councillors, and the discussion was therefore postponed until next meoting. The City Surveyor has been authorised to go to Australia and prepare a report from information gained there on tho beat method of constructing a chilling room in connection with the Municipal abattoirs.
