At tho inquest on Mabel Hutchinson, aged 20, found drowned on Howick Beach, an open verdict was returned, there being nothing to show the cause of the fatality, except a statement that deceased was in the habit of walking in her sleep. Inglewood, last night. News is just to hand that a young man named George Guilford, age 26, was found dead at Tarata yesterday. Death is ascribed to epilepsy, to which he was subject. The Coroner has not yet ordered an inquest,

An inquest was held yesterday on the body of Mrs Fraser, wifo of William Fraser, chemist, who baDgod hersolf on Saturday. The evidence showed that deceased had been in ill-health and depressed. A verdict of suicide whilst temporarily insane was returned. Wellington, last night. Tho body of a Maori named Ropata was found in the Otaki river. It is supposed that Ire was washed out of a buggy when crossing tho river, and was drowned. Oamaru, last night. News has reached hero of a boating fatality near Moeraki lighthouse yesterday morning. Five brothers named Barrett, sons of a railway platelayer, were fishing in a flat-bottomed boat, which drifted into the surf and capsized. Tho oldest j brother, named Henry, aged 25, was drowned. The others succeeded in reaching the shore. The body has been recovered.

Wanganui, last night. A serious accident occurred this morning to the mail coach from Taihape to Mangaweka. While the driver was in the act of delivering the mail at Utiku the horses bolted, and galloped a quarter of a mile before being pulled up. Several passengers were inside, and all jumped out. One, Captain Batt of Wanganui, was injured on the head. Two young ladies, Misses Ada and Florrie Dalziell, were on the bos seat of the coach and jumped off. i The latter injured her foot, and the former was rendered unconscious, and has since died. They are the daughters of Mr A. Dalziell, hotelkeeper of Taihape.
