AN ARCHDEACON’S DEATH
(Per Press Association.) New Plymouth, last night. Yon. Arohdeaoon Henry Govett died this morning, aged 84. He succeeded the Rev. Mr Bolland, of St. Mary’s Churoh, in 1847, and remained minister for fifty-three years. During the Maori war he acted as ohaplain to H.M. Forces. He resigned the position of Archdeacon a little more than 12 months ago, and was sucoeeded by Arohdeaoon Cob.
