AMATEUE CHAMPIONSHIP 3. By Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright Keceived 1.20 a.m., Oet. 1. Sydnoy, Sept. 30. There was a very large attendance at tho National Sporting Club to witness the initial contests for tho Australasian Amateur Boxing Championships. Tho sport was excellent, and tho various events were generally well contested. Following were the results :
Bantam Weights : Clifton, N.S.W., beat Barton, N.S.W. ; Dickenson, N.S.W., beat Gray, N.S.W. Light-weights : Taplin beat Eosonberg, Wellington, N.Z. ; Porbury, N.S.W., beat Bagley, Queensland. Heavy-weights : McKollar, N.S.W., beat Eo'dd, N.S.W.
Middlo-woights : Fraser, N.S.W., beal Harritt, N.S.W.; Griffin, Invercargill N.Z., a bye. The finals will be decided on Friday.
