The yavdings at Addington to-day were below the average, particularly in the sheep pens. Fat cattle: 228 head came forward. The bidding was fairly brisk, and the price of beef ranged from 28s to 84s per lOOlbs ; steers, £6 7s 6d to £l3 10s, extra prime .£l4 12s 6d ; heifers £7 5s to £lO 5s ; cows £6 15s to £lO. Fat sheep: The entry was not large, and as both export buyers and butchers wore competing together, tho market was decidedly firm, and last week’s rates were fully maintained. A feature of the market was tho number of pens of merino wethers, all of which showed capital quality. The range of prices was : Best crossbred wethers 26s 3d to 30s 3d, lighter 21s to 255; merinos 21s 8d to 2-ls 6d, lighter 16s Id to 18s 6d; best ewes 22s 6d tcT2ss, lighter 16s Id to 21s. Fat lambs: 46 of this season’s were entered, and sold from 15s to 22s 6d. Store sheep : Only 381 were entere d. Wethers 18s 6d to 20s Id, hoggets 13s lid to 16s 9d, ewes and lambs 13s 2d all counted, Pigs : There was a small entry and a fair demand. Baeoners 46s to 635, larger sorts 60s toVOs (equal to 5d per lb), porkers 343 to 42s (equal to 4-J-), big stores 25s to 35s 6d, medium 18s to 245, weaners 16s 6d to 16s.
