WATER SUPPLY.
[(To the Editor of the Times); Sir, —In tho interest of the inhabitants of this borough and district, now that the matter of water supply has been dispensed with, I respectfully urge on our Borough Council and othor local authorities tho adoption of another course. That is, that they shall pass a bye-law insisting that ovory owner of a 4-roomed cottage shall supply tanks to hold not less than 1000 gallons. The owners of 6 roomed houses 1500 gallons, 8 or more rooms 2000 gallons. A good deal has been said about catchment area. Tho rain from Heaven on tho roofs of tho small cottages, conserved as I have suggested, I am suro would do much during our coming summer to ward off disease.and add to the comfort of many a parent and housewife, who, with a paltry 400 gallon supply, as many of our small cottages now possess, must be much distressed for want of water for her daily needs. Trusting this letter may be of substantial service in the direction indicated, I am, etc., Peckover.
