SUPREME COURT.

In tho Supreme Court to-day, Martha DeYoung, an old woman from Reefton, was acquitted on a charge of breaking and entering. The Grand Jury returned a true bill in all cases except a charge of manslaughter against Bridget McLaughlan, in connection with the recent discovery of a male child in the Hokitika, rivor. . In the case of procuring abortion against T. W. Scully, hotelkeeper at Waimangaroa, the evidence for the Crown was concluded, but further hearing was postponed till next day. Mr Justice Denniston intimated that although he would let the case go to the common jury, several important law points would be reserved for the Appeal Court. DREDGING.
