A ROUGH TRIP,

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night.. The iron barque Ben Avon, Captain Dixon, from Glasgow, arrived to-day with cargo for Dunedin and Wellington. She has had an unusual amount of bad weather, which caused considerable damage. All the boats were smashed, several sails lost, etc.

Jas. Stevenson, 27 years, a native of Barrow-on-Furncss, lpst his life. A tremendous sea broke on board, and Stevenson and Wyllie were washed overboard. Wyllie managed to regain the v ship, but the other was never seen again." RAILWAY PASSES;-*'-
