WEDDING.
TODD—JOHNSTONE/
A wedding which attracted a great deal of interest took place at Nowstead, the pretty country residence of Mr J. Tombleson, yesterday morning, the contracting parties being Miss Jessie G. Johnstone, second daughter of the late Mr George Johnstone, and , Mr Alexander Todd, of Htrathendrick, . Waimata Valley. The Bev. Bobert Gardner, assisted by the Bey, B. F. Bothwell, officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr G. J. A. Johnstone, looked charming in a grey silk voile over grey silk, trimmed with cream passementrie, and customary wreath and veil, The bride was attended by three bridesmaids : Miss Dodd (who wore a pretty white silk costume, trimmed with lice and chiffon) and the little Misses Johnstone (nieces of the bride), who looked very dainty in cream silk. Tho ' bride’s travelling costume was brown voile, with ecru and black chiffon and pink trimmings. Over 40 guests sat down to the wedding-breakfast, after which the happy couple left for their I home amid showers of rice. The newly-wedded couple carry with them the best-wishes for their future happiness of a wide circle of friends, by whom they are most highly esteemed,
