DEATH OF ARCHDEACON LINGARD.

Per Press Association. Christchurch, last night. The death occurred this morning of Archdeacon Lingard, for over 20 years vicar of St. Luke's, and one of tbe oldest of the local clergy, being about 70 years old. Ho had recently resigned his curacy, and intended leaving lor England early next year. He had suffered from diabetes for many years, but managed to fulfil his duties regularly until five days ago.
