By Tolegraph—Press Association—Copyright Roceivod 10.29 p.m., Sopt. 15. London, Sept. 15. Tho Cabinet spent three hours discussing tho fiscal quostion. Tho Standard says it is understood the Government will adhero to the determination to attempt no innovation policy until aftor appealing to tho country. The action of ministers will moanwhilo be limited tO-'discueaiou and enquiry. ■The proposal to establish preference with the Empire will be indefinitely postponed and form no part of tho Government’s collective policy. The Government, however, is prepared to claim the right of retaliating upon foreigners whose tariff is aimed at°dostroying and hampering British commerce. The Standard adds that this policy is not acceptable to several members of the Cabinet.
