FUNERAL OF MR WM. MORRISON
The high esteem in which the late Mr William Morrison was held was evidenced by the largo attendance of town and country residents at his funeral yesterday. The cortege consisted of upwards of thirty carriages, whilst a large number also followed on horseback. Prior to the funeral a short service was held by the Rev. J. G. Paterson at deceased’s late -residence. The chief mourners wore : Mr T. Morrison, brother of deceased ; Messrs T. Morrison, James Morrison, and Hugh Morrison, sons of deceased ; Miss K. Morrison, daughter;, and Misses Kate and Mary Morrison, nieces. The members of Court William Gladstone Lodge of Foresters assembled in strong force, as also did the employees of Messrs Nelson Bros, and the Harbor Board. The Rev. J. G. Paterson officiated at the grave, and a short Foresters’ service was read by the Chief Ranger, Bro. H. H. Armstrong. The coffin was literally covered with wreaths and other floral tributes, sent by the following friends : Mrs K. Harris, Mr and Mrs Robb and family, Mr 0. B. Hubble, Mr A. H. Hodge, Mrs Moore and family, Mr and Mrs Forreßt, Mrs Maher and family, Mr E. F. Harris and family, Mr and Mrs S. Williams, Mr and Mrs R. D. B. Robinson, Katy and Mary Morrison, Mr and Mrs Wilkmson, Mr and Mrs Harry F. Hall, Mr and Mrs A. Thomson, Mr and Mrs C. Nield, Mr T. Decent, Mr and Mrs H. Kane, Mr C. Adair, Mr and Mrs Parker (Matawhero), Mr and Mrs Arthur Wall, Mr and Mrs Spotter, Misseß E. and K. Harris, Mr and Mrs W, Morgan, Mr and Mrs M. Morgan, Mr and Mrs S. Doleman, Mr and Mrs A. Hansen and family, Mr and Mrs Allan Taylor and Miss Daisy Taylor,, Mr and Mrs G. Humphreys and family, Mr and Mrs D. Murray and family, Mrs Fafam and family, Mr and Mrs Binnie, M 1 ’ and Mrs James East, Mr and Mrs Poswillo. Mr and Mrs W- Ef- Clayton, Mrs and Sid, Ledger, Mr and Mrs Frank Lowndes, Mr E. P. Joyce, Bros. H. J. Busbnell and W. L. File (Foresters) and many others. Amongst the floral tributes were several beautiful wreaths sent by the crows of the John Townley and Tuna, employees of Nelson Bros., and members of the City Band. Great sympathy is felt for the members of family in their sad bereavement,
