CYCLING CLUBS.
ABUSES IN CONDUCT OF CASH CYCLING. By Telegraph—Press Association— Christchurch, last night. Tne Pioneer Amateur Bicycle and Athletic Club resolved at the annual meeting to-night to withdraw its affiliation from the League of New Zealand Wheelmen on the ground that the conditions under which cycle racing was conducted at present were not in the best interests of amateur sport. It was stated that abuses existed in the conduct of cash cycling races, and the club’s action was a protest against the alleged undesirablo state of affairs.
