MOTION CARRIED AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Received 10.49 p.m., Aug. 26. Capetown, Aug. 26. 7 Mr Burton, in the Capo Assembly, moved for the appointment of a Supreme Court Judge to investigate martial law sentences, and tho establishment of a Court of Appeal to deal with rejected compensation claims and claims alleged to be 1 inadequately paid. Sir Gordon Sprigg said that the motion was impracticablo. The Commission had investigated 6000, and thero were still 2500 to investigate. If tho motion were I carried tho Government must reconsider I its position, I The motion was carried by 32 to 22.
