HOUSE. OF REPRESENTATIVES. Per Press Associations WELLINGTON, last night. The House met at 2.30. Tho greater part of the afternoon was occupied in the further consid".ration of tho Estimates. Tho vote for the Legislative Departments gave riao to a good deal of discussion, but the voto eventually phased unaltered. The vote for the Colonial Secretary s Department was under discussion at the dinner adjournment. The Houso resumed at 7.30. The estimates of the Colonial Secretary’s Department wore under discussion the whole evening. The Opposition members complained iliat Mr Hooves was dissatisfied with his present tenure of office cs Agent General, and urged thaf ho should be given the She appointment for a definite term. Mr Soddon and Sir J. G. Ward said • thati Mr Reeves had not expressed any dissatisfaction with tho conditions under which he held the office. Along discussion took place on the item u bonps on account manufacture of iron -and steel from irousand or ore, on terms to be agroed upon, £1000." Mr McGowan deolared that tho Government were not doing any more for Sir A, J. Cadman than they would do for any tody el3o. ___
