(Per Press Association.)
Nelson, last night. Early this morning a timber-laden waggon was being driven over a slip on the Wangamoa hill road, when the outer edge of the road gave way. The waggon and five horses wore precipitated down the steep hillside, but the driver, Harry Sohwass, just managed to jump clear. The waggon, timber, and horses slid about 60 feet down the hill and came to a standstill. Schwass managed to liberate the struggling horses, and they brought up about three chains below the road. One animal was rather badly hurt, but the others esoaped with scratches. Tho horses are valued at £SO apiece.
