LARGE HAILSTONES LIE TO DEPTH OF SIX INCHES.
By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright Received 10.44 p.m., August 13. Berne, Aug. 13. A hailstorm at Schwig uprooted thousands of trees. The fruit was ruined. Hailstones the size of hazelnuts lay to a depth of six inches for an hour afterwards Received 10.51 p.m., August 13. London, Aug. 13. A cyclone devastated Port Antonio. There were many fatalities. Thero were enormous losses of fruit, the crops for 15 miles westward of Kingston being destroyed. The velocity of the wind reached 120 miles an hour.
