Bulgarian officials are pessimistic —fearing an early general massacre of Christians in Macedonia. Moslems in Uskub district are excited and congregating in mosques, which is interpreted as ominous. It is feared that the troops will prove incapable of restraining fan'atical Moslems. Half are recruits, and at Monastir the raw recruits are unreliable.

Practically the whole of Western Macedonia is in the hands of the insurgents. , The Turks are master of little more than the ground they stand on.

Insurgents captured the Government food supplies in Korista district, with 300 repeating rifles, and ammunition.

At Kruehoo, it is feared that the Pasha was severely wounded by Albanians on leaving Ipex with troops.

The Macedonian losses at Sovovitsh were 150 killed. Turkish advices state that 26 Moslem peasants were massacred near Perlepe. . ,
