MUNICIPAL SERVANT SIGNS AN ADMISSION OF GUILT.

Per Press Association WANGANUI, last night. In the Police Court this morning, J. C. Priestly, manager of the Municipal Opera House, was charged on live different informations, with failing to account to the Borough .Council for moneys received by him for rent of the Opera House, and booking entertainments to be held. Counsel for accused applied to have the case dealt with summarily, as each charge involved a sum under ten pounds. The Magistrate expressed doubt whether a matter involving embezzlement by a public servant should be so dealt with. Accu-ed signed an 'admission of guilt. He was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
