HAWKE’S BAY V. POVERTY BAY. JUNIOR REPS. PLAY SATURDAY. The Selection Committee of the Poverty Bay Rugby Union met yesterday afternoon, and picked the following players to represent Poverty Bay against Hawke’s Bay in the annual junior representative fixture to take place at Gisborne next Saturday Full back. Holder (Kaiti-City). Three-quarters. W. Coleman, Puflett (Kaiti City), Roderiok (West End). Five-eighth. Witty (Kaiti-City), Half, Grinlinton (Kaiti-City). Wings. T. Sharp (Huia), B. Bright (Kaiti-City). Forwards.

Clarke, J. Somervell, C. Peterson (West End), J. Wells, W. McCullough, F. Higgs, Watson (Huia). Emergencies. Back: Shaw (Huia). Forwards: Piesse (West End), Moore (Kaiti-City), Taylor (Huia). The team are requested to meet at the Masonic sample rooms this evening at 7.30, for the purpose of electing a captain and indulging in practice, etc. All members are requested to attend. Tho selectors have got together a very fair side, which should give the Napier boys an interesting time of it. The fact that they have never played together will necekpariiy be against them on Saturday, but they are the best junior team which has yet represented the district. There should be a large attendance on Saturday afternoon next to witness what should prove an interesting exhibition.

CRIPPLED PLAYERS. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. A cablegram from Mr Norris, manager of the New Zealand football team in Australia, states that DuDcan has injured his wrist, R. McGregor sustained a blow over the kidneys, and Spencer’s leg is not yet well. Ho suggests an emergency back should be instructed to hold himself in readiness to proceed to Sydney. In accordance with the suggestion S. Wilson, the Wellington three-quarter, has been asked to prepare to leave.
