The King inspected the lnvcagli Trust Buildings and St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Queen visited the hospital, Both the King and Queen visited the depot of the Royal Irish Constabulary, Phoenix Park, and Maynooth College. At the latter in stitution, the King was presented with an address from the Catholic Bishops and Archbishops. The presentation was productive of a remarkable scene. The address stated that they rejoiced and expressed a grateful sense of tlieir Majesties sympathy with Irish subjects, which had awakened a warm respouse in the hearts of the people. His Majesty the King, replying, said that the Irish had contributed much to the strength -and honor of the Empire, and enriched the national life. , He added that lie had listened with
saddeneu feelings to the reference in the address to the aged Pontiff, whose memory would he long cherished beyond the bounds of tlie Church of which the Pope was the exalted head. - The King and Queen afterwards partook of tea with the hierarchy, and received a respectful send-off.
