At the tallow auctions 982 casks were offered, and 441 sold. Fine mutton sold at 30s, medium 28s 6d, fine beef 31s to 31s 6d, medium 28s 6d. The Antwerp wool sales opened quiet. There was a good attendance. Fine Merinos are at five to ten centimes below April rates. Crossbred were rather sparsely represented at five to ten centimes advance. Some 2356 bales of La Plata wool were offered and 724 sold.

LONDON MARKET.

Per Press Association^ Napier, last night. The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company cabled to-day as follows : “ Frozen meat market prices are unchanged-”

STOCK SALE AT WAERENGA-

A-HIKA-

Thore was a large attendance at the stock sale hold at WaereDga-a-hika yesterday, and good prices were realised. Messrs G. Eliott and J. B. Kells conducted the sale.

Messrs Dalgety and Co. and Common, Shelton and Co. jointly report the Waerenga-a-hika stock sale yesterday, the entries consisted of 200 head of cattle, 1600 sheep, and 18 pigs. Springing heifers realised from £6 2s 6d to £7, Backward heifers were not in demand, owing doubtless to scarcity of feed. Young cattle of good quality wero keenly competed for.- A line of 70 weaners averaged £2 17s 6d, and smaller sorts from 40s to 455, calves 30s, 2 year old steers and heifers £4, light beef cows and heifers £5 to £5 12s 6d, steers £7 2s 6d. “ Sheep : A lino of good two-tooth wethers sold at 12s 2d, 4 and 6-tooth wethers 11s lid, small 2 tooth wethers 8s 7d, small 2 tooth ewes 8s 6d, full-month ewes in Jamb 9s 6d, butchers’ ewes 9s 6d, full-mouth ewes in low condition 5s 2d.

“ Pigs : Well-bred young Berkshire sows sold from 28s 6d to 355, porkers 17s 6d, half-bred Tamworth stores sold from 12s to 18s. “ The next sale will be held on 30th July.”
