A fire, causing damage amounting to between £4OO and £SOO, partly demolished a house in Victoria street West, owned by Mrs Hackett, and occupied by Pearlman os a fancy store, and by Polglaso as a fish shop. The insurance on the building is £6OO in the Phienix. The damage is £3OO. Pearlman’s goods were insured for £IOO in tho Commercial Union. Polglase was uninsured. Pearlman insured only yesterday- WAI1I1) ye . s terday. At the Waitekauri firo the insurance on Phillips' shop and furniture was £250 in the London, Liverpool and Globe, and £450 in the Imperial; Frith, -£4OO in the London, Liverpool and Globe. The fire occurred hrough the accidental upsetting p| a lighted kerosene lamp.
