TUPAROA

.(From Our Own Correspondent.)

A thunderstorm passed over here on Thursday evening last, the lightning being very vivid. A petition signed by all the residents here has beer! sent to tho PostmasterGeneral re a whole time post office. Wo hope tho petition will bear fruit. The Tuparoa Football Club play Tolago Bay on Saturday, Juue 6th, at Tokomaru. An exciting game is anticipated. On behalf of the Concert Committee I should like, through the columns of the Times, to thank Mr Reedy for the use of his piano, for without the same the committee would have been very much handicapped in getting up the concert. Miss Hartley also is to be congratulated on tho able and efficient manner in which she took her part, not only in tho play, but at the piauo and in her singing. A great part of tho success of tho concert was due to her untiring energy and willingness in attending the rehearsals whether the weather was wet or line.
