TOKOMAEU BAY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Heavy rain and cold winds prevailed all last week, and on Tuesday and Thursday nights lightning was visible such as is seldom seen in these parts. The European school opened again on Monday morning, all tho children attending having recovered from measles. The s.s. Herald, from Auckland, arrived and departed yesterday after landing a large general cargo. Sho took of! several passengers. Football is the most interesting topic here at present. The local team aro very regular at practice, and under their captain -are getting a thorough knowledge of the rules. The team to play Waipiro at Takapau on Saturday is as follows Fullback, T. Potae ; throe quarters, Thompson, Gerrard, T. Mulligan ; five eighth, E. It. Murphy ; half, Piper ; wings, Smith and Albert; forwards, H. Fairlio, P. White, Mati Aurangi, A. Matahiki, F. Buchanan, D. White, and To Rawhili; emergencies, Semkle, Ferris, Babbiugton.
