A DESERVING CASE.

(To the Editor Gisborne Times. Sin, —Whilst admiring tho spirit which actuated the writer of tho letter referring to poor Jack Lee, I am inclined to think it bad taste on the part of tho writer to specially mention names, for although the majority of those mimed havo taken prominent parts in charitable undertakings, it must be remembered there are plenty of others who have done likewise. Therefore, the writer, wbos9 name is “ pat ” to

everyone in Gisborne, need not have gone to the Ivaraka railway for the purpose of completing a charitable committee, for there have been plenty of charitable actions done in Gisborne by persons whoso names never appeared in print. I would suggest, Mr Editor, that a subscription to start with is preferable to a concert, and by all means let tho concert follow ; for tho case referred to is, lam sure, a very deserving one.—l am, etc., Civis.
