DEATH OF M R. A.Y. BOSS.

A very old resident of the district, Mr A. Y. ltoss, sen., passed away at six on Saturday evening, at his residence on the Waimata rivor. Mr Ross had been in poor health for months past, but was a man of strong resolution, and only a few days ago ho was able to drive into town. His demise will bo deeply regretted. Ho was a zealous advocato of tho public interest.and his' straightforward criticism was of great value to tho people, though it sometimes toolc years to discover that value. Ho was aman of ability and industry,and of kindly disposition. He leaves a wifo and grown-up family, for whom much sympathy will bo lelt.
