A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
Per Press Association,, Christchurch, last night,
At a meeting of tho committee of the Canterbury A. and P. Association to-day a lotter from tho Canterbury Jockey Club stated that it could not consent to any alteration in tho dates of tho November meeting. It was resolved that copies of the letter be sent to tho Associations interested. The cattle committee was
thoroughly in accord with tho principle of preventing duplication of names in herdbooks, and considered that tho case might be met by prefixing breeders’ or sires’ name. Tho matter should bo decided by a conference of delegates in Christchurch in Grand National week. It was recommended that there ho single judging in Ayrshire, Jersey, and fat cattle classes. A report about various committees recommended single judging in implement and carriage sections, dairy produce, seeds, preserved meats, pigs, carriers’and tradesmen’s horses, trotting horses and driving competitions, but not in sheep classes. The reports were adopted.
