By Telegraph—Press 'Association— Christchurch, last nighf. Mr H. F. Wigrarn was installed as Mayor of Greater Christchurch this ovening. In an address ho suggested a scheme for tho up-kcep of the Domain by the city. Tho Selwyn County Council, surrounding boroughs, and Government objected to further enlargement of tho city at present. He urged tho acquirement of the municipal stono quarry, and also asked that a Citizens’ Committeo should be set up to advise on questions of holidays, and suggested that a Mayoral Entcrtainmont Fund should bo established, in order that men not able to bear the present financial demands might bo able to occupy the chair. Ho paid a high tribute to Mr Martin, solicitor, who drew up the Municipal Corporations Act.
