By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, last night. The Premier has received from the Chairman of the Imperial Food Supplies’ Association, London, a communication stating that the organisation is at present proceeding to erect depots at Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow, Bristol, Nottingham and other inland centres for the distribution of produce. The letter states that the directors had read reports of Mr Seddon’s speeches, in which he had referred to the distribution of New Zealand products throughout Great Britain, and feels that it is in a position to undertake this on lines advantageous to the colony. Tko writer proceeds: It will bo some timo before we might be in a position to perfect the representation which wo consider necessary throughout the populous centres of Great Britain, hut if your Government could seo its way to guarantee, say, LIO,OOO in four per cent, debentures, wo would bo prepared to give immediate effect to the scheme.
A conference of delegates from the Protestant denominations meets in Wellington next week to consider tho compilation of a Scripture text book for uso in public schools.
