A. AND P. SOCIETY.

Per Press Association, Dunedin, last night. Tho Committee of tho Otago A. and P. Society unanimously resolved that tho Coiumitteo view with considerable regret the proposed departure of Mr Kinsella, Chief Dairy Commissioner, front New Zealand, and express their high appreciation of the services rendered by him to tho dairying industry in the colony, and lurther wish Mr Kinsella every success in his new sphere ol life. It was further rosolved to send a copy of the following to Lhe Minister of Agriculture : “ That tho society regrets to learn that Mr Kinsella's services aro lost to the colony, and respectfully urges upon the Government tho necessity of making better provision for tho salaries of various exports connected with tho Agricultural Department, so us to avoid in future as far as possible tho loss of men of experience in the colony, as it is a matter of the greatest importance that their services should ho retained.”

The Society accepted with thanks from Mr M. Murphy the late Agriculture Conference prize of five guineas open to all members of A. and I’. Societies and Farmers’ Clubs in the colony, including secretaries, for tho best essay on tho benefits conferred by A. and P. Associations on the agricultural and pastoral interests of the colony, and the social and intellectual advantages derived from tho periodical gatherings of t.boso moat interested in tho above pursuits. Tho essay is to be read at tho annual meetiug of the Society during Lhe winter show.
