CORONERS’ INQUESTS.

A verdict of accidental doath was returned at the inquest concerning the death of Robert Auty, storekeeper at Porirua, who died from injuries received to his head when he fell off an express on tho night of tho 19th inst., near Johnsonville. In regard to the death of Mrs Mary Montgomery, a woman 38 yoars of age, who was found dead at her home in Tory streot, the coroner’s jury returned a ver diet of death from heart failure. I Christchurch, last night.
A girl natnod Ethel Bolton was run over by a truck of wheat attached to a traction engine at Swananoa, on Wednesday evening, and was killed. At the inquest a verdict of accidental death was returned, but a rider was added that one of the engine men was somewhat to blame for not doing more to prevent the children riding on the drawbar of the truck, ufter having once warned them off. j Mr W. J. Cowlishaw, a member of a well-known local legal firm, died this morning.
