SHEEP FAIR.

[By Telegrapa—Press Association.] Ashburton, last night. The annual ram and ewe fair was held to-day, when 1600 ewes and nearly 500 rams were entered. Both rams and ewes came forward in capital condition. There was a large attendance of farmers, dealers, and breeders, but bidding was slow, and ewes showed a slight drop in prices. For tho better class of rams there was a good demand, and prices were satisfactory. The following are the prices of tho principal sales of rams : —English Leicester and Border Leicester, 2igs to 4gs ; Southdown, 4gs to sgs ; Shropshire, 4gs to sgs ; Stud Shropshires, up to lOgs ; Leicesters, 4gs to 2|gg.
