ISOLATION HOSPITAL.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, last night,

The Chief Health Officer, Dr Mason, arrived in Auckland this morning, and in tho afternoon laid his scheme for an infectious diseases hospital at Point Chevalier before a meeting of representatives of local authorities. As a result of the late conference, Dr Mason had modified his scheme, and brought with him plans of a building estimated to cost L 6700, including water supply and drainage. To day’s meeting, however, rejected the proposal after a warm discussion, and decided that the hospital should be erected in the grounds of the general hospital. Dr Mason said he would do all he could to prevent this.
