Whitaker Wright, who was arrested in America, declared that ho was proceeding to British Columbia to inspect certain mines, aud iutended returning via Australia. Ho said his arrest was an outrage, and those responsible would be mado to suffer. He had most powerful friends at Home, whose infiueuce would bo exerted on his behalf. Ho had nothing to fear.
