BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIP
VICTORIA CLUB DEFEATS PAL MERSTON NORTH.

Wellington, last night,
Representatives of the Victoria Bowling Club, who won tho championship of tho South Island at tho Christchurch tournament, and winners of the North Island Bowling Association’s championship, met to-day on tho Wellington Bowling Club’s green to decido which team should be regarded as champion of tho test was to consist of three gatfros of twonty-ono heads, the team which won two games to bo doclarod the winnor. The teams were :
Victoria. Brackonbridgo, jur. 801 l Gooder Brackenbridge, sk
Palmerston,
Bunting Drew Nash Mowlem, sk,
Tho green, which was fairly heavy when play started, was made still heavier by the misty rain which fell at intervals during tho morning and porsistently during the afternoon. The Palmerston men could not get the measure of the heavy ground. Only two gamos were played, Victoria winning both, and thus securing 'the championship. In the first game Victoria scored 21 and Palmerston 20. In the second game the scores were 84 and 13 respectively. The winners take silver medals presented by the President of the North Island Bowling Association.
