DREDGING.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington last night. The Frontier Buller yielded llozs for six hours' dredging.

THE KENT.

The subsidised steamer Kent, which sailed to-day for South African ports, took the following cargo : 16,805 carcases of mutton, 8849 quarters beef, 1700 carcases lamb, 600 sides pork, 1963 boxes of butter, 421 crates poultry, 78 crates cheese, 460 boxes potatoes, 109 boxes of fish, 50 of milk, 983 sacks oats, 222 of bran, 25 of oatmeal, 168 cases meats, 55 boxes tongues, 13 of onions, 4 bales of woollen goods, 437 cases sundries.

MADAME MELBA,

The Opera House was filled in every part to-night, when Madame Melba gave her only concert in the city, About £ISOO was paid for admission at the theatre.
