At a meeting of the Board of Governors of the Canterbury College the question of applying for library grants from Mr Carnegie was referred to the museum and library committees to consider and report. Mr J. Speight was appointed to lecture on geology at the Canterbury College. The University Senate to-day elected Bishop Kevill, of Dunedin, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the Hon. W. Rolleston.
