A FIRE.

The volunteer drillshed was totally destroyed by fire shortly after eleven last night. It was a very old building ; it was lately condemned as unsafe, and the insurance was cancelled on Friday last. Tho gun-room adjoining was destroyed, and six gun carriages badly burnt. The damage to the guns is unknown. A new 15-poundcr was saved. The battery harness, valued at X3OO, and a lot of ammunition and small arms wero destroyed. Tho police stables adjoining wero damaged, and a numbor of stores burnt and spoilt by tho water.
