The Westland Trades and Labor Council resumed yesterday, and adopted a motion in favor of compulsory unionism, riving magistrates power to deal with breaches of an industrial agreement, giving inspectors of mines as well as inspectors of factories power to lay complaints in regard to mining matters, and recommending the Government to arrange for the Arbitration Court to sit at the first period in tho several industrial districts.
