FURTHER NEWS, CONDUCT OF BRAVE MEN. DAMAGE TO VESSELS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, Feb. 16. The Wnkatipu had 67 passengers on board. Many on both vessels were thrown out of their berths by the shock. Splendid discipline was observed on the Wakatipu, there being no confusion. The boats were swung out and provisioned within 24 minutes. The firemen and engineers 6tuck to their posts till the water was up to thoir waists. A hole, 13ft deep, extending oft below the waterline, was cut in the steamer's side. It is feared that the steamer is badly damaged. The Eurimbla had a narrow escape, but fortunately was in light trim forward. Thero aro two huge holes in hor bows, extending just above the waterlino to tho hawse pipos. All her boats wero in readiness and admirable promptitude was shown.
