INVERCARGILL, last night, Robert Meldrutn, while at work on a bridge on the Orepuki-Waiau railway extension, fell to the dry bed of the stream, 30 feet below, and had his ribs broken. A shunter named James Ogilvie, while braking a waggon over a weighbridge in the Invercargill yard to-day, slipped, and the wheel passed along the leg and hip. No benes were brokeD, but the limb is badly pinched and contused. This was the hottest day so far of thß season—B9 in the shade,
