: FARTED.Per Press Association, Wellington, last night. At the Supreme Court to-day a decreo nisi was granted in George Winch versus Elizabeth Winch. DR GRACE. The condition of the Hon. Dr Grace who has been seriously ill for some weeks shows a slight improvement. DAMAGE TO A VESSEL, An inquiry was held to-day into the recent fire on the ship Maehrihanish. The Court found that the fire was not the result of accident, but owing to the lack of direct evidence it was unable to say who the guilty persons were. It appears that one of the seamen had threatened to injure the ship, and it was this man who. after coming on board late at night, reported the outbreak. A ROGUE. John Lennox was to-day remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence, on charges of false pretences and forgery. BAN ON CATTLE. The Premier has been informed by cable from tbe Agent-General that the Argentine’s prohibition against the importation of cattle applies to New Zealand.
