DROWNING CASES
By Telegraph—Press Association. Dargaville, Saturday. A gumdigger named James Corcoran, of Wharau, was drowned yesterday. His son fell into the river and Corcoran dived after the boy. It is supposed he struck a snag, as he did net rise. The boy was rescued by another man. The body of the father has not yet been found. Mangaweka, Saturday. H. Hatley, aged twenty, the son of R. T. Batley, of Moawhango, was drowned whilst bathing in the river. The body was recovered quickly. Life was extinct'.
