A second attempt was made to float the Hokitika dredge down the river on lasi night’s flood. Tho dredge, however grounded on tho south side of the rivet about a mile from tho wharf. As tho rain ceased the river is falling. Probably the machinery still a'board will be punted down and the hull takon to pieces whore it lies and floated down for shipment to Nelson, in which district tho dredge will bo re-elected.
