THE TAYLOR-CARRINGTON COMPANY.

“THE SHAUGHRAUN” TO-NIGHT Thoro was a largo attendance at tho Theatro Royal last evening, when “ The Convict King ” was produced by tho Taylor-Carrington Company. The drama is foundod on the interesting story of Moondyno, tho famous Australian convict, and is full of sensational incidents. Tho piece was splendidly mounted, and tho members of the Company all appeared to groat advantage. Mr Charlie Taylor gavo a good interpretation of the Convict King, and Miss Ella Carrington gained fresh laurels for her impersonation of the character of Sister Cecila, a Sister of Mercy. Both were heartily applauded for their efforts. Mr W, Wellington took the part of Captain Draper in a most successful manner, and Mr Ward Lyons made the most of his opportunities as Isaac Bowman. Miss Winifrod Davies created a most favorable impression as Alice Walmsley, and Misses Willis and Payne wore specially good in their parts. Tho cast was an exceptionally strong one, and the frequent applause testified to the appreciation of the audionce. To-night Dion Boucicault's great Irish drama, “ The Shaughraun ” will be staged with all the original songs and choruses, and thoro should be a large audience.
